The Summer-Bridge Program at The Cinema School
The Summer Bridge Program (SBP) is a four-week film production- intensive program at The Cinema School, the nation’s first film high school, founded by Ghetto Film School in partnership with the NYC Department of Education in September 2009.
Led by Ghetto Film School’s staff and grounded in the curriculum of TCS film department, SBP will serve 15-20 freshman students starting in July.
The program will be executed with the assistance of 4-5 upper classmen (Juniors and Seniors), working as mentors for the incoming group.
Summer Bridge Program (July – August )
• Four-week introduction to cinematic storytelling
• Daily workshops, screenings, and interactive seminars with industry professionals
• All students will complete scripts, cast actors, shoot, direct and edit individual narrative 2 to 3-minute shorts with no dialogue.
• Student work showcased at Public Screening at Lincoln Center in September.
