The Parent Coordinator is an employee of the NYC Department of Education and works on-site at The Cinema School under the direct supervision of the Principal:
The Parent Coordinator is responsible for encouraging and promoting active involvement by the families in their children’s education and making school more welcoming to the families.
In addition to the Principal and the staff, the Parent Coordinator is an important point of contact for families of the school.
Unlike parent volunteers working in a school, the Parent Coordinator is on staff and can work within the school to direct the families to the appropriate places where they can find the information they are seeking.
Hello! My name is Liann Gutierrez and I am the Parent Coordinator for The Cinema School. We are excited to have you all a part of the Cinema School community. I am here to assist you in creating a partnership with the school to better support your child. A major key to your child’s success will be your ongoing involvement and support in our school community. Throughout the school year, you will have several opportunities to meet our teachers, staff, and administrators, participate in the Parent Association, attend workshops, and other events that celebrate our students, so make sure to look out for postcard invitations and phone messages!
As parent coordinator, I am available to provide you with information, answer any questions you may have, help access resources for your child and family, and help you resolve any issues your child may encounter in school.
